A Program To Promote Church Camp Attendance Among Our Children
The church runs our ANNUAL CAMP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM during the summer months April - July. The Camp Scholarship Program enables our campers to earn points which will in turn make it possible to have their entire camp tuition paid for by the church.
This is how it will work: Each Week our young people will be given points for various items and activities:
CAMP POINTS
200 points for signing up to go to camp
150 points for sending in Camp Registration to Round Lake.
300 points for actually going to CAMP
(It's great that you signed up -- its greater that you go !!)
CAMP LETTERS OR POST CARDS
400 points to the child who gets the most mail while at their camp week.
These can be from parents, friends, relatives. Bring back all the mail you got at camp and present them to the Camp Scholarship Point Attendants Michele Stratton will count them. At the end of the camp season the one person who got the most mail will receive 400 extra points.
So save those cards and letters.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
100 pts. for attending Sunday School
100 pts. for bringing Bibles to Sunday School
150 pts for every visitors brought to Sunday School
250 pts PER MONTH FOR PERFECT ATTENDANCE IN SUNDAY SCHOOL -
AM WORSHIP
100 pts for attending AM Worship service Adult or Jr. Church
300 pts. for doing a Special in Sunday AM Worship (singing, playing instrument, saying a poem etc.)
100 pts. PER MONTH FOR PERFECT ATTENDANCE IN AM WORSHIP SERVICE.
YOUTH GROUPS
150 pts for attending youth group on Wednesday Night.
150 pts for bringing a Bible to Youth Groups
150 pts for bring visitor to Youth Groups.
150 pts. PER MONTH FOR PERFECT ATTENDANCE IN WEDNESDAY YOUTH PROGRAM
400 points to the children that have perfect attendance in both Sunday School and Wednesday Youth Groups, during the 13 weeks of the Camp Scholarship Program
OTHER WAYS TO EARN POINTS
VBS POINTS
75 pts for each night they attend \VBS - June 10th - June 14th (6:30 p.m - 9:00 p.m))
300 pts. for PERFECT ATTENDANCE AT VBS -
200 pts. for bringing a each friend to VBS
THIS IS 200 FOR EACH FRIEND BROUGHT ONCE .
Special Projects
See Camp Scholarship Project Board
(Take a card from the board do the job and get it signed and give to Michele Stratton) .
As we did last year each project will have a special card that will have to be signed by the contact person and turned in when the job is completed.
The Special Projects are as follows
Project Points
Special in AM Worship 300 pts. Special In Junior Church 200 pts.Teach a Lesson in Junior Church 250 pts. Mow Lawn 400 pts.
SIGN - UP ON LAWN MOWING LIST
Child's Parent (Parents please supervise)
Help in Food Pantry 250 pts.
Silent Roll Call Cards 100 pts. (Once a Week)
Help with Hymnals 100 pts.
Once a Week)
Sharpen Pencils in Pews 100 pts (Once a Month)
Help getting VBS ready 200 pts. Cleaning Baptistery 500 pts. (One Time During Program)
There may be other projects added as we progress in the program. So keep an eye on the Special Project Bulletin Board in the Sanctuary.
Here Are The Points You Need !
- If the camper earns 8500 pts
100% of the camp tuition will be paid for by the church
- If the camper earns 6300 pts -
85 % of the camp tuition will be paid for by the church.
- If the camper earns 5000 pts. -
75 % of the camp tuition will be paid for by the church
The camps that will be included in the Camp Scholarship Program will be all Camps at Round Lake Christian Assembly.
The church pays the first 1/2 tuition for the young person going to camp regardless of how many points the camper earns from April to July. The young person has to be active in either Sunday School or Youth Groups. That means they have to be present in one of the programs on a REGULAR BASES.
Please Note: Parents will have to send in the second 1/2 of the tuition upon registration to the camp, BUT at the end of July depending on how many points the camper has earned, the church will reimburse the parent(s) or guardians according to the figures above. If a child signs up and does not go to camp no reimbursement by church.
The Camp Scholarship Coordinator will be keeping track of the points for the Camp Scholarship Program.
It is the responsibility of the camper to make sure they get with the Camp Scholarshio Coordinator to make sure their points can be recorded properly.
There will be a $20.00 cash prize awarded to the camper with the most points earned at the end of the Camp Scholarship Program.
Other Information About Camp:
Each camp registration form must be accompanied by the first half of the tuition, paid by the parents.
TUITION ASSISTANCE - If their is anyone in the congregation that would like to donate money toward camp tuition for a child that wishes to go to camp but parents can afford it.
Give those donations to Gene Branch.
If their are any families that have children who wish to go to camp, but the family can't afford to pay the first half of the tuition see one of the elders or Don Kelley.
Church Camp is a great experience we want to make sure everyone that wants to go can go.
